NRKA CHANGES WORLD FORMULA PISTON POP-UP RULE

Dateline January 6, 2013. Starting immediately the NRKA has finally adapted the WKA World Formula piston pop-up rule. After much discussion we have decided that now is the proper timing for this change. The new rule is .025″ just like it reads in the WKA rule book. We are also going to keep our 2 amendments towards this rule that are amendment#707.12nrka which reads: Piston pop-up will  be measured with a special designed deck bridge that registers off of the dowel pins holes. The other amendment is #707.30nrka which reads: Piston may be machined to achieve piston pop-up maximum of .025″. But machining of piston is limited to the kidney bean surface only.  What does this mean for all of World Formula competitors? Nothing really, everyone who raced with us under the old rule is still legal. Talk to your engine builder and see if it is worth machining your block to gain the extra .005″ of piston pop-up. This rule change will apply to all World Formula Classes: Junior, Open, and Masters.
